Stolen Mezuzah replaced by generous guest

Tuesday, 17 February, 2009 - 11:26 am

Three weeks ago, we were greeted at our door by a saddening sight. Our Mezuzah, along with its silver casing had been stolen, never to be seen again. After having experienced a few anti Semitic comments and incidents over the past couple of weeks, this was quite a shock to all of us. Of course, it was mentioned at our Shabbos table, as all our guests sympathized with this unexciting news.

A week later, we received a wonderful gift by mail. Dr. and Mrs. Cohen, of West Hempstead NY, generously sent us a new Mezuzah encased in a wooden Mezuzah cover. Our new cover matches our door perfectly. We were touched by the Cohen's kindness, generosity and thoughtfulness.

That was very kind! However, it is suggested not to affix an expensive or apparently expensive case on an outside door, where it can be stolen. Save the nicer cases for your indoor doorways.

Nice post. I study something touhger on different blogs everyday. It will all the time be stimulating to read content from other writers and follow a little one thing from their store. I’d want to make use of some with the content on my blog whether you don’t mind. Natually I’ll give you a hyperlink in your net blog. Thanks for sharing.REPLY-go for -Dan
